My words, intact and smooth, circle the earth and return exotic as the timbre of our suicided fathers, our defenestrated mothers. At la ventana, I scratch at the screen: a monotone guitar, a single note. And rising like songs, more specks of dust through which I can only make out cut-up, fragmented shards of a world whose sounds I forget.
